Air Quality
Environmental Standards Ltd uses the following standards to measure air quality:
- Horizontal deposit gauge method, based on ISO/DIS 4222.2
This method involves the placement of a fixed number or deposit gauges throughout the area of concern. The deposit gauges are sent to our laboratory every 30 days where the dust fall is analysed and calculated.
- PM10 monitoring or total suspended particulate matter (TSP), based on AS/NZS 3580.9.3:2003 and other associated standards
These methods involve the flow of ambient air at a known flow rate through glass fibre filter paper. Sampling units pump air usually over a 24 hour period. Filters are removed and sent to our laboratory for analysis.

- Production of a Dust Management Plan for your business;
- Production of an Environmental Effects Assessment for your business;
- Consultation as to the appropriate dust management program for your operation;
- Implementation of one or both of the standards above;
- Ongoing monitoring of dust levels at your site of business;
- Review of monitoring data for annual reporting requirements.
